Barbaresco sori 2020 (Paitin)

Cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Founded in 1796, the Paitin winery, owned aby the Elia family, is a company that has made the history of Piedmontese viticulture. In 1893 the Sorì Paitin, considered one of the first Barbarescos in history, was bottled for the first time. The company vineyards extend over the gentle and sunny hills between the municipalities of Neive and Barbaresco on soil of sedimentary origin, very fine and silty with a substrate composed of clayey and calcareous marls alternating with the marls of Sant'Agata, richer in sand, and with a characteristic gray-blue color. Here the climate is characterized aby mild winters and rainy springs, hot and intensely sunny summers. Produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, this Barbaresco is a wine with a close bond to its territory. It is sumptuous, intense, and harmonious, and has elegant aromatic nuances thanks to the refinement in oak barrels. In the glass, the wine shows a bright garnet color. The aromatic profile is broad and complex and immediately reveals notes of red berries, cherries in jam, and then the classic aromas typical of Nebbiolo such as rose and violet and then again dry leaves, tobacco, and some woody nuances. In the mouth, it is vigorous and structured, with firm but well-integrated tannins and a persistent mineral note. It is a wine of great character and elegance that goes well with game meat, red meat stews, or aged cheese.
